What is CBD Isolate?

Extracted from the plant, CBD Isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol.

Unlike Full or Broad Spectrum CBD, CBD isolate contains only CBD. None of the other terpenes or essential oils which are extracted from the hemp plant will be present. 

CBD Isolate is 99% pure CBD. After following the traditional extraction process for CBD, the resulting oil is then further refined to strip away all of the other phytocannabinoids (which include THC), to leave behind the purest form of CBD.

CBD Isolate is also completely free of THC, which is why it proves so popular for many of our customers. It’s also a great way to get started on your CBD Isolate journey as it’s very easy to dose because the exact amount of CBD in each product can be accurately measured.

 

What’s the difference between CBD and marijuana?

It’s a common assumption that CBD and marijuana are the same thing, but this is not true.

CBD is made from hemp and does not have any psychoactive properties, unlike marijuana.

There are two main species of plant within the family; Indica and Sativa. Whilst marijuana can be extracted from both species, hemp can only be extracted from Sativa.

This means there are some notable differences between hemp and marijuana. The most important of these is that hemp contains almost no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is the chemical found in marijuana which makes you feel high. 

For hemp to be legally considered hemp, it must contain no more than 0.2% THC. If you are taking Full or Broad Spectrum CBD products it’s normal for it to contain trace amounts of THC, but nowhere near the levels which will become psychoactive. However, if you are taking CBD Isolate, it will contain no THC at all.

What strength CBD should I take?

The concentration you choose will depend on what benefit you’re hoping to get from the product. We would always recommend starting on the lowest dose CBD as possible and then working up to higher strength products depending on the benefits you want to feel.

How to Use

“Start low and slowly grow” is the key to starting your CBD journey. This will allow you to slowly build up your endocannabinoid system and fully realise your sweet spot. Your endocannabinoid system works on a bell curve and if you take too much at once then you can go over the curve and overload which could result in having the opposite effect of what you’re hoping to achieve.

This is a rough guide only as each of us is different and unique. A slow approach may be more beneficial to you and increase fortnightly instead. The time frames below are examples, but a good guide to how dosing is recommended.
