Umbrella Bamboo Lava
One of the smallest of the well-behaved Fargesia bamboos, Fargesia murielae Lava is a compact, elegant, clump-forming, evergreen bamboo which never runs at the root, and is ideal for the smaller garden. Yellow-green canes arch under the weight of narrow, bright blue-green leaves, forming the bushy umbrella shape typical of Fargesias, and making a delightful rustling sound in the breeze. Because it’s so compact, Umbrella bamboo Lava can be grown in a large pot, a lovely, mobile plant for a terrace or balcony, although it will need plenty of water and fertiliser. It also makes a good feature plant in the garden.
